Everyday Finance Champions is a free, state-by-state guide to financial assistance programs — food, energy, housing, health and family aid — written in plain language for people who need help now.
Help exists, but it is scattered across dozens of agencies with different names in every state, written in language that assumes you already know the system. The people who need it most have the least time to hunt for it. We put it in one place.
A directory of 544 assistance programs across 49 states. Each entry tells you who runs the program, who may qualify, how to apply and where to go. Programs are organized by state and by what you need — food (SNAP, WIC), energy and utilities (LIHEAP), housing, health coverage (Medicaid), cash assistance (TANF) and child and family programs (Head Start) — alongside nonprofit and healthcare resources.
People and families on a tight budget, anyone in a rough patch — a job loss, medical bills, a rent or utility shut-off notice — and the caseworkers, teachers and volunteers who help them find aid.
We are a directory — not an advisor, a lender or a government agency. We do not decide who qualifies and we cannot promise approval; each program makes its own decision. There is nothing to buy here and no account is needed. Rules and deadlines change, so always confirm the details with the agency that runs the program.
If something is out of date or a program is missing, tell us.
